Welcome to Ottawa County, Kansas. Ottawa County was established in 1866 deriving its name from the Indians that were native to the region. Located along US-81 six miles north of I-70 in North Central Kansas, Ottawa County consists of 720 square miles situated in the Solomon River Valley. With a population of 5,818 and a county seat of the city of Minneapolis, farming and ranching provide the backbone of the local economy of Ottawa County with manufacturing taking advantage of access to availability of two major interstates.

All County Offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Veteran’s Day. However, the County Clerk’s Office will be open from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM for post-election requests following certification, as required by KSA 25-3107.
